        • Thomas HAYTON. Born 1840, Gateshead. Worked as a trimmer and was at the Harton Workhouse, South Shields, at the time of his death in 1905. Married Elizabeth ?. Born around 1844 in Blaydon, Northumberland. She died in 1910 while living in John Williamson Street, South Shields. The 1881 census had them living in Campbell St., Westoe. They are both buried in Harton Cemetery, South Shields.

Her younger sister, Mary Murray MARTIN, was Robert HAYTON's (b. 1846) second wife. Lived in Whithead St.,Westoe in 1881. Both buried in Harton Cemetery, South Shields.

Lived at Grassfield, Alston (1819), Castle Lane, St Mary's, Carlisle (1841), 2 Union St., Botchergate, Carlisle (1846), Haltwhistle (1849), 22 Raglan St., Westoe, South Shields (1858), Albion St, Jarrow (1869) and Newbottle, Durham (1881). Married Rebecca HOLLIDAY, born 1817, Dalston, Cumberland. Married sometime between 1841 and 1846, location unknown. She died June 1869 and interred Jarrow Cemetery 01 July 1869 aged 52.
        • Robert HAYTON, born 02 June 1846, 2 Union Street, Botchergate, Carlisle. Occupation: labourer. Lived at Monkton Terrace, Jarrow (1881), Chaytor Street, Jarrow (1892) and Hope St. Jarrow (upon death). He married 06 February 1870 at the Parish Church of Jarrow, Margaret DEWITT, believed to be born 1851 in Wigan. She died February/March 1880 and was interred in Jarrow Cemetery on 03 March 1880 aged 29.
          • Thomas HAYTON, born 27 April 1874, baptised 17 March 1875 at St Hildas, South Shields. Lived at 24 Ferry St., Jarrow (1895) and Salem St., Jarrow. He married 24 August 1895 in St Kildas Presbyterian Church, South Shields, Sarah Ann RIX, born 1876, died 1919.

        • Robert re-married on 29 June 1881 at St. Hildas, South Shields to Mary Murray MARTIN. Born 25 July 1863, South Shields, youngest daughter of Alexander and Phillis MARTIN. Mary's sister, Phillis, was married to John HAYTON, cousin of Robert.
          • Phoebe HAYTON. It has been said she looked after her brother, Robert, when his wife, Mabel died and inherited his home in Whitley Bay when he died later. However, no evidence has been found of her existence.
          • Rebecca Holiday HAYTON. Born 06 Nov 1881 and baptised at St. Hilda's, South Shields.
          • Phills (Foreman Owen) HAYTON. Born 1883. Married twice, first to Alexander Foster BALL (born 27 Nov 1880, killed in action 01 July 1916) then COYNE. Lived in Ferry St, Jarrow and later the Primrose Estate, Jarrow.

          • James Emmanuel HAYTON, born 01 October 1892, Chaytor St. Jarrow. Died 20 November 1955, South Shields of lung cancer. For a period of time worked/lived in Middlesborough at a ropeworks, (reputedly to get away from his mother-in-law) He married May JORDISON, daughter of Robert Joseph JORDISON and Charlotte SCOTT.
